"We’d always done the ‘Naturist Christmas,’" says Sarah Evans, 42, mother of two. "Sitting around the tree, cooking the turkey, opening presents. But it always felt… off. We were comfortable physically, but we were faking the emotional warmth."

The thing about naturism is most people are incredibly friendly, and of course we’ve all got something in common before you even start chatting.”
For most families, Christmas morning is a chaotic scramble of wrapping paper, too many layers of pajamas, and the thermostat cranked up to a tropical 74°F to combat the frost on the windows. For the Evans family—a devoted clan of home-naturists—Christmas required a different kind of logistics. It was the cracking open of emotional walls
: Maintain a warm indoor temperature and keep plenty of "napkins" or towels handy for mealtime to avoid spills.
"You spend so long trying to create the perfect Christmas," he says. "We finally cracked. And cracking it was the most freeing thing we’ve ever done."
“It’s a very friendly, non judgemental environment enjoying the freedom of nudity without sexual connotation,” Tim explains. The hotel’s main Christmas parties, open to all ages and body types, run from 10am to 10pm and include “all day spa, food, drink, music, games and getting louder as the day progresses.”
This is the holy grail. In a textile house, you pass out on the couch in a restrictive sweater, waking up with a stiff neck and static cling. In a naturist house, you wrap yourself in a heated, fleece blanket—skin to fleece—and drift into a carb-induced coma that feels like a womb. You are warm. You are free. You are family.
