The story begins with a serial killer who stages minor car accidents to lure victims out before stabbing them to death. He makes a fatal mistake by targeting gang boss Jang Dong-su, who survives the attack and becomes the only living witness. Detective Jung Tae-seok, who is desperate to catch the killer despite his superiors' skepticism, strikes a deal with the gangster: whoever finds the killer first gets to deal with him according to their own brand of "justice".

Played by the imposing Ma Dong-seok (also known globally as Don Lee), Dong-su is a powerful, ruthless crime lord who rules the local underworld with an iron fist.

We’ve all seen the "buddy cop" movie, but usually, it’s two cops who don't get along. In this film, the tension is dialed up to 11 because the partners are natural enemies. Watching the detective struggle with his morals while accepting help from a criminal provides some of the best dialogue and tension in the film.

Unlike typical "cop vs. criminal" stories, this film explores the gray area between law and crime, highlighting that sometimes, the law needs the underworld to accomplish its goals.

Neither trusts the other. Jang is a gangster who deals in violence and extortion. Tae-seok is a cop who bends the rules. To catch the devil (the serial killer), they form an unholy alliance. The result is a cat-and-mouse thriller filled with bone-crunching fight scenes, dark humor, and a surprisingly touching exploration of honor among thieves.
